Hi everyone and thank you for visiting my site. My name is Yong and I’ve been in the reselling game since 1987 at the age of 15. I started off collecting comic books and sports cards and was selling them at places like the local flea markets. I’ve been in the game for a long time and I’ve personally witnessed the evolution of reselling through technology.
My parents instilled in me the value of hard work at an early age. Besides just reselling my parents had me working in the family business since I was 12 years old. While most kids were out playing with friends after school and going on summer vacations I was putting in hours at the family business. I had to work for everything I wanted, which was a valuable lesson by itself as it taught me to appreciate what I have.
I was very fortunate to have attended a high school that offered the only graphic design courses in the district. After high school, I’ve made the decision to skip college and just work, as all I wanted to do was make money. I had various jobs over the years but I was way ahead of the curve when it came to computers. I had taught myself to code HTML and CSS and over the years took various courses at the local community colleges.
During all this, I was still hustling. Almost every weekend I would find myself at the local flea markets with a backpack full of comics and sports cards. I can’t remember the actual launch of eBay back in 1995 but I do remember how much they had grown by 1998, as that was when I first opened my eBay account. I started selling all kinds of stuff from my typical comics and cards to DVD’s and clothing.
With my day job and the eBay sales on the side I was making really good money for my age during that time. Over the years I would sell on eBay sporadically whenever I needed the extra money. Money was good and life was great. I was able to buy things most my friends couldn’t afford and I would travel to places most people only dream about.
Eventually, my ailing grandmother, who had practically raised me since birth made me promise her that I would go back and finish college. My grandmother meant the world to me as she was and still is the solid foundation of who I am today. With the promise I made to her, I revisited what I learned in high school and went back to college to earn a B.A. in Graphic Design from San Jose State University. The only regret that I have is that I didn’t earn my degree while she was alive.
After college, I discovered the FBA (Amazon) platform and that was a complete game changer. Through Amazon, I have earned more money than ever and over the years I have helped many people fulfill their own dreams of earning money the unconventional way. I have experimented with Amazon’s various platforms to earn money including Merch by Amazon.
My next goal in life is to start a location independent business and I hope to share that journey with you. Thanks for visiting and please feel free to drop me a line.
